Air measurement for PFAS and emerging contaminants is no longer a single-discipline challenge As PFAS and other emerging contaminants move from research and policy concern into monitoring, regulation and consulting practice, practitioners are being asked to make sense of methods, data quality, uncertainty and expectations that are still evolving. Using PFAS as a practical case study, this workshop will explore the measurement pathway from the people who see it from different angles: those designing sampling programs, operating equipment, analysing samples, assessing quality systems, interpreting results and considering regulatory implications. Led by the CASANZ Measurement SIG, the session is designed to connect those perspectives, highlight where practice is developing, and identify what is needed to support greater confidence in emerging contaminant air measurement.
