COMPARISON OF MEASURED AND MODELLED BOUNDARY LAYER HEIGHTS IN THE UPPER HUNTER REGION OF NSW

Biography

Handan has a background in climate science and environmental engineering, with a focus on climate, atmospheric systems, and emissions reduction. She began her career in 2022 as a perils analyst at Finity, where she worked on natural hazard modelling, including tropical cyclones in Australia and flood models for New Zealand. In 2023, she joined the NSW Government atmospheric research team, contributing to weather and climate analysis, specifically black carbon analysis and air quality forecasting. In late 2024, she moved into a Net Zero Emission Modelling team, where her work focuses on agricultural and transport emissions modelling. Handan is currently working on greenhouse gas emissions programs in the Upper Hunter Valley, supporting modelling and analysis to inform environmental decision-making.
