MANAGING ODOUR EMISSIONS FROM ANAEROBICALLY DIGESTED BIOSOLIDS: THE ROLE OF SOIL APPLICATION PRACTICES
Biography
Thais Guerrero is an environmental engineer from Brazil, raised in a community affected by industrial air pollution, which shaped her motivation to study air quality, atmospheric, and climate sciences. She recently completed her PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW Sydney, where she specialised in odour emissions and biosolids management, focusing on the sensory and chemical characterisation of volatile emissions across various stabilisation processes for beneficial reuse. Thais now works as a Research Associate at the Water Research Centre, UNSW Sydney, continuing applied research while expanding into broader areas of resource management, including drinking water challenges. She has presented her work at leading national and international conferences, including NOSE 2024 in Naples, Italy, and the IWA Odours and Air Emissions Conference in Hobart. She is dedicated to advancing sustainable resource management and contributing to circular economy solutions through impactful environmental research.
