About the conference

History

CASANZ first dedicated a conference to this critical issue in 1994, in collaboration with the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ). Chaired by Distinguished Professor Lidia Morawska, that inaugural event established a key consensus: comprehensive solutions can only be achieved through integrated approaches at all levels of research, investigation, and practice.

In 2025, we return to this mission—bringing together global experts to examine the state of IAQ, drive evidence-based decision-making, and shape the future of indoor air management.

Conference theme

The 2025 conference will explore Paradigm Shifts—the transformative changes shaping indoor air quality (IAQ) research, policy, and practice. As science advances and global challenges evolve, traditional approaches to IAQ management must adapt to new evidence, technologies, and expectations.

This theme challenges us to rethink outdated models, bridge gaps between public and occupational health, and embrace innovative solutions that safeguard indoor environments across all building types. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we’ll redefine best practices and drive meaningful progress toward healthier indoor spaces for all.

COVID-19 & Health Safety Policy

At CASANZ, the health and well-being of our conference attendees remain a top priority. We are committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment while minimising the risk of virus transmission, including COVID-19 and seasonal illnesses.

What You Can Do:

  • Feeling Unwell? If you experience any symptoms of illness, we kindly ask that you refrain from attending conference sessions or events.
  • Testing: Delegates are encouraged to carry and use rapid tests if feeling unwell. Testing helps reduce the risk of transmission.
  • Masks: While not mandatory, the use of N95 masks is recommended, particularly in crowded areas. Please bring a supply of masks if you wish to wear one.
  • Vaccination: We strongly encourage all delegates to stay up to date with their vaccinations, including booster doses.
  • Minimising Contact: CASANZ promotes a “no-touch” policy to reduce physical contact where possible.
  • Hygiene Practices: Please practice good hand hygiene and utilise the sanitisation stations provided throughout the venue.

If you begin to feel unwell during the conference, we ask that you take necessary precautions, such as distancing yourself from sessions and social events.

Thank you for your co-operation in fostering a safe and respectful conference environment.
